VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

TO HELP EMERGENCY DRIVE THROUGH FOOD DISTRIBUTION

If you would like to sign up to volunteer, please EMAIL,  newark@uwrochester.org  We will need your name/cell number and email contact information, if you are interested in being called on to assist. The Emergency Food distribution will take place on Tuesdays, for 3 hours in the afternoon to evening this summer. You must be able to lift 25 lb. boxes, stand and bend. You may be asked to deliver boxes to people in need, who have no transportation, using your vehicle. PPE-hand sanitizers/facial coverings are also required along with proper social distancing for everyone’s’ safety.

$52,600 Grant Funding Available

for Emergency Food and/or Shelter Programs in Wayne County 

Application will be posted at  www.waynecap.org  

 CARES Act Grant Request APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY July 1, 2020

The Wayne County Local EFSP Board has been awarded Federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program/CARES ACT (COVID-19). Wayne County Local EFSP Board has been chosen to receive $52,600 CARES ACT Funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Programfunds must complete an application. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds made available under CARES Act appropriations for of the program.  

Completed applications should be emailed to Crystal Manktelow at crystal.manktelow@waynecap.org . No hard-copy, mailed or faxed applications will be considered. DEADLINE for SUBMISSION of PHASE 37 APPLICATIONS is WEDNESDAY, JULY 1by 4:00 PM.
